How a summer job turned into this business
I spent every summer through high school and college on patio cover and sunroom crews, carrying glass and framing walls next to people who'd been at it for years. Most of what I know about building a good sunroom I learned from them, right there on the job, and in 2020 I started this business here in Rancho Santa Margarita.
A lot of houses around here have a slab patio, a deck or a tired old screen room out back, and most of our calls come from homeowners around south Orange County who want more space without a full remodel. Turning that spot into a room you'll actually use is what we're best known for. What I care about most is that you pick the right kind of room before you spend a dollar, because a room that's too hot to sit in, or can't be warmed up later, is a hard thing to fix. What working with us is like
I come out to every estimate
The person who walks your patio and plans your room is me, so you've got one person to call when questions come up. Our own crew of carpenters and installers does the build, with a lead carpenter running your site day to day.
A room that fits how you'll use it
We'll ask whether you picture morning coffee in the spring or a den you'll sit in all summer, then help you choose between a screened room, a three season room and one that's fully heated and cooled. We settle the glass and insulation with you up front too, because tearing into a finished room to add them later is the expensive way to do it.
A solid base under your new room
Before we plan anything, we look hard at the slab, deck or patio cover you already have, since a room is only as sound as what it sits on. If it isn't up to the job, we'll tell you plainly and plan the fix into the work.
Help with the city and your HOA
We find out what the city or county building office needs before plans go in, and when a permit applies we prepare the paperwork and pull it as your contractor. If your home is in an association, we help put together what its review asks for, so you're not sorting it out on your own.

In California, anyone who builds onto or alters a house has to be licensed by the Contractors State License Board when the job needs a building permit, uses employees, or comes to $1,000 or more in labor and materials, and a home improvement contractor has to hold that license before bidding. Lightcraft is fully licensed and insured for the rooms we build.
